Kolonialen is a neighbourhood restaurant with an informal atmosphere and an international feeling. The casual interior makes relaxing with a delicious lunch on Saturdays or dinner, alone or in good company.
The menu is inspired by the ingredients we like, in the season that they are best. We use our experience in responsible & ethical sourcing to procure the highest quality vegetables, meats and fish that are available. Doing this allows us to cook and serve the best possible food at the best possible price.
We also like our wines. Kolonialen wine list proves the classical training (and perhaps the network in the wine trade) of the owner Pontus Dahlström, formerly a founding partner at Maaemo. Don’t be afraid to ask for something special by the glass. At the moment we have over 800 carefully selected wines in stock. Please have a closer look here.
Kolonialen is located just in between St.Hanshaugen and Pilestredet. With both bus and tram stops in close proximity it takes only 10 minutes on public transport to and from the city center.
Please note that we will have a limited menu the first couple of weeks after opening due to deliveries and availability of commodity.
Reservations
We recommend making reservations at least one week in advance. We require parties of 7 guests or more to book and pre-select a menu via our booking team (post@kolonialenbislett.no), who will make contact after your reservation has been made. For walk-ins, we only seat parties on a first come, first served basis.
